So, as a little treat for you all, and because my new Systems Design class is giving me just a glimpse of an idea of how stupid "corporate culture" can be (I'm still trying to deal with the laughable fact that it's called a "culture"), I'd like to give you a couple of all-too-fitting definitions my girlfriend dug up on the web a while back:

Corporation

A miniature totalitarian state governed by an unelected heirarchy of officials who take a dim view of individualism, free speech, equality and eggheads. The backbone of western democracies.

Managment

A class of semi-skilled corporate hirelings whose rise within the organization directly correlates to the amount of work they delegate to their more talented underlings.

OK, so I'm a little annoyed with the greed-driven, idea-lacking, buzzword-using evil empires of today. Maybe if I knew they were doing things like giving money to the Arts and funding charities with the motivation of actually DOING GOOD instead of the tax write-offs and "public image" they're really after I may have a less harsh opinion.

If you're insulted by this, sue me. The most you're gonna get is a '84 Rabbit (which has the special "praying the front end won't fall apart and toss you off the highway on the way home from school" feature), a custom-built 'puter that you'll probably destroy unless you give it to your IS department, and a fairly decent TV/VCR combo.

I, of course, would get some great PR in return.
